I suspect @Mz iMac  that there's a door mat outside the door and I'd note, the rug might have a light background but is actually an all-over pattern...

This is a very pretty foyer.  It reminds me of the one we had before downsizing.  We also had the white and lighter wood (maple) floors and stairway.  I adore that small window on the landing, we had a larger one that was up way too high, had to use a ladder inside to wash it!   Brought me back to my big house that I sometimes miss.......still adjusting to townhouse living but I didn't miss shoveling the foot of snow we just had

Do people really live in these homes? They are just too clean. Of course it is beautiful but I'd have a five or six  foot tree.

@AuntG  Keep in mind it's just the foyer! I suspect the real tree is in the living room or a family room of some sort.
