I got this free pair of frosted glass lamps with a floral/vine motif from my Buy Nothing group.

I have some ideas in mind.Cat Happy

What would you do with them?

Well, since I'm not good at re-imagining, I wouldn't have gotten them in the first place Smiley Happy.  However, seeing what miracles you create, I'm sure you will come up with something.  Let us know Smiley Happy

They need new shades for sure.  I would spray paint the bases.  Maybe solid black or a metallic, or even a crackle finish.

@lolakimono  I'm not sure if you're thinking of repurposing them or painting them but I have seen some pictures of people using that Krylon paint and having that mercury look.  That would modernize them.

@lolakimono I don't want to hijack this thread. Could you start a new thread and tell us how the school year is going? How did your students respond to the classroom? How many other teachers were you able to help? Etc, etc.

@On It

Not a hijack at all! Cat Very Happy  In fact, the lamps are going in the classroom, so...

School started for teachers, but not for students.  I have seen about 10 students in the room between orientation (for "new" `10th graders, who never saw the building and for the new 9th graders). We had our back to school events (one in the a.m. and another in the p.m.) but it was during Ida, so we only got in the first event and then had to close the school. Only the 9th graders report on Wednesday and the rest will come back on Thursday.

One parent did comment that mine was the only classroom that was decorated, and I mentioned probably because we were in meetings the entire time for teacher "work" days.  If I hadn't come for four days before I had to report as a DC, it would not look like it does now.
