The furnishings aren't my style whatsoever and, personally, they appear much more formal than what I think of when I hear lakeside retreat (and that's if somebody lives there year round or has this as a weekend/vacation getaway).

The library feels the most cozy and inviting and I absolutely love the outdoor sundeck area.

The wood is pretty but there is a bit too much of it for me.

I like the cloudy blue color but the other rooms are crying out for an infusion of color. A little too antiseptic.

The last shot is where I would spend my time.

Looks cold & uninviting to me. I like a home to look comfortable & welcoming.

I suppose it's nicely done but is a good bit more chilly than I'd prefer, especially in a lakeside dwelling, where I'd hope to find more warmth and character.

@SilleeMee    Where did your post go? If this were MY lakeside retreat, my household staff would know what flowers I like and always have them in place for my arrival. Smiley Happy

@PickyPicky3

I didn't post anything in this thread. It wasn't me.

I love the last picture of the exterior. So calm and inviting. The interior is very pretty but I think it needs some plant greenery to add life to the rooms.

Why do so many dining room pics look like they are ready for a board meeting? I can't figure it out.
