Ladies, need advice about vacuum cleaners, especially Dyson

Had an Oreck for past two years, light weight.. very, but constantly needing repair , belts breaking, you name it, we had to repair it. Very disappointed with it.

I would really like to purchase a vacuum that is dependable. I've heard so much about the Dyson brand..anyone have a Dyson? What do you think?

Any other name brand name vacuums you would recommend?
