Love that look!  I'm not much into decorating mags or website - so I've never seen lacquered walls.

Definitely is something I would consider doing.

I'm generally not a fan of "green" - but I love that hallway!

I like the white, black, and gray rooms.  The jewel toned rooms look acrylic.  The green room looks like something from the movie The Shining.  Creepy.

In my previous home I had the walls painted in beige with wide stripes of high gloss and eggshell.  It was subtle and I liked it very much.

@wilma Perhaps as an accent wall, otherwise I think it would give me a migraine from the glare.  Can you imagine sitting in there with the sun streaming in?

@wilma    I really like the effect.  I do think you need high ceilings for it to work well.

When I was a little girl I visited wealthy relatives in New York City that had a brownstone house done this way.

I really like the blue room, beautiful shade of blue, but would prefer a more matte finish on the walls.  Any tiny blemish on the wall would stick out like a sore thumb with that shine.

Re: Lacquered Walls & Ceilings

I like lacquer and I probably would do it if I had a large home and a room I assessed as being amenable to it. None of these examples have great appeal for me, though a nice job was done in all of them. The blue's not bad but they need to fill out those shelves to take some of the emphasis away from the paint job. The red room looks nice, but that's a lot of red. The green might work but for the awful floor covering and rug. The bathrooms work relatively nicely and the ivory works well but the space is so spartan...
