This doesn't look like the same room at all to me.

I guess it's quite the makeover??   I don't care for either look and

I don't get the whole "white with no color" scheme that seems popular today.

I like the"after" redesign but not the color scheme. Would show every lived in moment spent there.

These are the kind of before and afters that would be nice on HGTV again.

I like the before......because it looks homey, warm and comfy.

The after..........looks sterile, uninviting, cold and bland.

Well, first of all, the after version is a much better photograph and is better lit, but the truth of the matter is I don't really care for either room. There are elements of both of them that are appealing, but overall, neither would be my goal. I like the sofa and carpet colors in the first room but the second room clearly looks more pulled together.

I would be able to discern better if the pics were taken from the same angle.  I like only the couch and chair in the first one.  The TV wall in the second is okay, but waayy too much white!!  Don't care for it.

I'd pick #1 because it looks lived in and real; like a home I want to live in or visit.  

I cannot stand the vanilla look of #2!   I never want that look in my home, and would not feel comfortable visiting someone with that style.

The "before" photo is just too dark. What's up with those 3 framed prints that don't seem to go together? I like the "after" photo much better because of the layout and the built-in bookcase. But, there's too much stark white for me - I'd choose some different sofas with a bit of color.
