Re: LOOKING FOR A FLOOR FAN

[ Edited ]

@Tinkrbl44   Hello, I just checked out the tower fan that I have and it is available at Amazon and Ebay.

It is:  Honeywell QuietSet HY254.  Has a remote control and is quiet; I have it in my family room near my TV.   I actually found mine new-in-the-box at Goodwill for about $20.00, about two years ago.  I love it and consider it one of my best buys.  It also has a timer, it revolves and has several speeds.  I think it is perfect and highly recommend it.

Amazon  $66.00, free shipping with PRIME.

Ebay 61.00 and free shipping.

I have the Lasko HVB tower fan and it's amazingly powerful. It oscillates and the newer versions come with a remote control. I've had it over ten years now I believe and it was well worth the money I paid for it. Newer versions are still availabe and very well reviewed. Our local Walmart had a whole row of fans back when I bought this and I went from fan to fan turning them on and off to see which was the most powerful. It wasn't even a fair fight. The Lasko HVB literally blew them all away.

@Tinkrbl44

I also bought a Lasko Tower fan like several other posters did. And I am extremely happy with it. It's very quiet, with a remote, and cools the room.  I got it at Menards (similar to Home Depot).

I have a Lasko fan and it's in the basement, actually I have 2 of them and both are there collecting dust.

They are not whisper quiet, they collect a lot of dust and try to clean each one of those area's, it's a nightmare.

Any fan with those "grates" collect a lot of dust and it seems like if they aren't kept clean, you are just blowing the dust around.

I vote for the tall oblong Dyson fan, it has a remote, any dust accumulation is one wipe, no one gets hurt with any blades, does the job and to me, worth the investment.

I have a pile of fans, desk fans, small round fans, Lasko oblong fans and finally happy with my Dyson fan.  The price tag was an ouch but compared to my graveyard of fans, all of those would of added up to cost of one fan that I'm happy with.   Did I menion is was whisper quiet too.

I bought mine from BB&B with the coupon, it had to be ordered online.  After receiving it, never thought twice about any other one.

Another vote for the QVC Holmes Floor Fan.  It has withstood many long hot Texas summers and I bought another one for my bedroom...........

@ValuSkr, I totally agree about the Vornado floor model.  In fact, Vornado is the only fan I would recommend. I have several models around my home, including the floor model you pictured.  I bought that one last year from Tru Value.  Using a $10 coupon I got it for $80.  I had searched online to shop around for best price, and everywhere -- including Amazon and other onliners who can lowball the price were selling it for $90.

@Tinkrbl44, If you go with a tower, please consider how difficult they are to clean. The only one I know of which has a removable grill is Vornado's. They have a few towers, but the models with the easy clean feature are NGT425 (42") and NGT335 (33").  No one makes a whisper quiet fan regardless of their ad descriptions.  To my ears, all Vornado models run exceptionally quiet compared to other brands.

I have two tower fans. Dyson which I love! It's quiet and has a timer and remote.  This is qreat because it's in the family room with the tv.

I also have an Air Inovations tower fan that can be a table fan or floor fan. It also has a remote, timer and is adjustable. This one was more affordable. I liked this one as well. It is somewhat quiet compared to my older fans. It is not as quiet as the dyson.

I think BBB might have most brands so I would check out the noise level and options there before purchasing. I love using my coupon. Having the timer feature is improtant to me. I only realized that when I purchased air purifiers that did not. It really is nice to have a few things on automatic.

QVC2 Big Deal today (5/15) ... Rowenta floor fan with remote. Looks like a very nice fan. The reviews for it on Amazon are very good.

I bought the Rowenta QVC-2 value and it arrived today. It's well made and has a remote and timer. It doesn't move as much air as expected. But, it Is VERY quiet, even when on "turbo" mode. It's a pricey fan (unless you compare it to Dyson).
