LAKESIDE HOUSE IN NORTH CAROLINA

Nice to cool down on Lake Glenville!  Andrew Howard did the interiors.  He's done some of my favorite city traditional interiors too, which are never 'straight traditional', but really more eclectic.

This porch is a show stopper, yet how comfortable and relaxing.

Wish they had shown the outside of the house, but here's the idyllic lake, surrounded by wooded hills--

The cascading lights look to have a bit of a textured finish, maybe crackle?  A dramatic entry, yes, but the multi-story fieldstone and warm wood make it welcoming...

There seem to be great views from most of the rooms, including the rambling family room/ great room areas--

The chevron floor in the kitchen is pretty-

I think this is their slightly more "formal" sitting room, yet to me, it's still cozy and inviting, a trademark of Andrew Howard.  A little "moodier" --

Love all the details, like the intricate edge of the coffee table, the woven-edge bowl, the subtle but sumptuous textures...

I could get a good night's sleep here...

I can't imagine having such a beautiful view every day, complete with an enchanted, misty and slightly mysterious island, framed in the view by tall, feathery trees.

I like this one except for that winding staircase!  Would be a dealbreaker for me!

The outdoor space is spectacular @Oznell. I love the mix of rustic and modern. It is a marriage made in heaven.

@Oznell what beautiful images to wake up to this morning!

I'm not sure I'd ever leave the porch. So inviting and the view is just spectacular. The island is fascinating and amazing.

The fieldstone is lovely and I don't see any furniture, light or decoration I don't like. The "X" artwork is not something I'd ever think to purchase but it works here as does the eclectic light. The coffee table speaks fine craftsmanship.

The kitchen is amazing as is the floor as you noted.

The winding stair is a showstopper...

Thank you so much!

This is absolutely breathtaking!!! I love all of the rooms and that staircase is gorgeous, however I wouldn't want to go up and down on it every day...

What a beautiful home though and the view!!!! Gorgeous!

Re: LAKESIDE HOUSE IN NORTH CAROLINA

What a stunning home!

I love the colors used, the stone, wood, design, and airy feel to every room. The flow from room to room is seamless.

My least favorite room is the Kitchen. I would like to see it with a touch of rustic. Maybe a change in cabinet wood or different island would do the trick along with different stools.

I am not a fan of open steps. I like the look of the winding design of the stairs and the light flows through but I think they are dangerous...especially for very small children.

Beautiful house and views.  I'd want to tweak a few things and add a touch more color and prints to make it perfect for me.

Lovely lakeside structure, appealing stone work and seemingly nice rooms, but not much about the decor resonates with me. I simply don't like the almost generic modern leaning transitional style we're seeing so much of these days. These interiors could be beautiful given different appointments.
