Modern filtration methods require next to no money once they're bought and installed. Things like rotary drum filters are self-cleaning, the bio-filters like a Bakki shower never need changing, about the only costs are electricity for the pumps and UV light and a yearly replacement bulb or bulbs for the UV. A modern filtration system costs a lot to buy and install, but once in place they're very low cost over the long term.
