Me too! I used to take on really lengthy and complicated knitting patterns, but like you, now I like easy, thick yarn, large needles etc., or I'm not interested!

I have been making simple scarfs that I can knit while watching TV. But how many scarfs can I knit! I only like to use nice yarns and the prices are so high.

FYI: Web's is introducing new yarns for 2015 and is offering free shipping for orders of $75.00 or more for any yarn purchase. No code required.

Great deal if you're planning a project requiring multiple skeins/specialty yarns. They have a wonderful selection.

Just a thought.

{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} I love to knit and have been knitting since I am 12 I am 54 now. I was very hurt by my niece who had twins three years ago and I knitted the babies [a girl and a boy] sweaters, little socks and hats and a two blankets all in green and yellow and pink. She saw it had no price tag and thrown it aside. My sister-in-law [her mother] was very upset. And I was close to tears. The project took me almost 9 months to finish. Everyone was oohing and awing about it when they saw it. I know you ladies who knit know how much the wool cost and how much making something for the babies meant something to me. These are my Godchildren .. she later said she was sorry. But, I never made her children another thing. I only knit for my family and friends who appreciate and will get use out of the outfits. The twins are three almost four now. I see them quite often and when they were babies I never ever saw them wear any of the outfits I knitted for them.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Maybe she didn't like the colors. Or she doesn't care for hand knit items. Some people don't. I knitted a scarf for my niece who picked out the yarn. Never saw her wear it. I guess some younger people prefer store bought stuff over handmade items.

I've finished three scarves for the Red Scarf Project charity knit. Red (any shade!) Scarves go to children who have aged out of foster care and have made it into college. They are put into a care package each Valentine's Day, which is why they are all in shades of red.

Here are pictures and the Ravelry links for two of them.

Above: Commuter pattern. Project on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/ChynnaBlue/commuter-scarf

Abov: Black Bear #Scarfie pattern. Project on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/ChynnaBlue/red-scarf-project-2---black-bear-scarfie

Easy Drop Stitch Scarf

I wanted some mindless knitting while recovering from an illness. I'm using two skeins of Noro and it's turning out just like the pattern photo above. I'm happy to find knitters here, but we're everywhere, right! Wink

Thanks for posting the pattern link! Looks very simple and nice effect!
I did make this, great pattern for a fun look.

Ooh, that is so pretty! I don't have anything going now and need to find a new project!

The next door neighbor lady taught me when I was a little girl, to knit and crochet.It has been a lifelong love of mine, and I love to have a project to work on during road trips with DH. I have also spun my own yarns from different fibers , designed many sweaters, and sweater dresses over the years. Latest project ...bolero sweaters.

I knitted for many tears and then laid it aside. Two yeRs ago I started up again and I enjoyed it so much. I knitted several blankets for babies and a sweater for my grandson thar was a bust. Ist Cgristmas time I had several prohects going. One of my favorite yarns was Caron simply soft. I began to notice a rash on my face. Not on hands just face. Surely not my yarn. I put it all away went to do. And had to put gunk o. My face. Just recently decided to finish the scarf I had hakf done and my face broke out again. Surely my knitting days are not over. Anyone else have trouble with this yarn. I have so many things I want to try.

Never. It's acrylic, so most people don't have reactions to it. Where did you buy it? Is it possible it came into contact with something you're sensitive to before you brought it home?
