@Laura14 I like it...but you've gotta do what looks right to you.

All in all, I really like your style and am enjoying your photos. I'd love to do a little more "glam" sometimes, but DH doesn't like that style at all

Re: Kitchen shelves Take 1

[ Edited ]

@Laura14  What a cute idea!  I'd ditch the mixer because i would want more serving pieces up there--big bowls or pitchers or something like that.  Also, could you find a tall glass cloache to put the feathers under?  That way they would stay clean and you could also use the cloache on a cake stand when you are serving cake or tidbits!

I say that because I am always looking for places to store cake stands and glass covers for them.  Pier 1 has a bell shaped one that is neat!

@Laura14  I like the 2nd option. Afraid of the mixer falling on me.lol  It's fun to find homes for things you already have.

Maybe tuck in some colored bottles for height and reflect that nice lighting? The plates make that shelf arrangement too linear compared to the mixer. Love your tile and shelving. What treat to have!

@Laura14 - Like it although I do agree, the mixer might be too heavy for that shelf - if it is a solid wood shelf you might be ok, if not, you might want to remove it before it snaps the wood.

@Sooner  That's a good idea!  The more I've looked at it, the more it's just amateurish to me and you are all being so nice and polite about it.  LOL   The masks I like but they need something more and more with them.  I will try and find something like that.

@LizzieInSRQ  It's not hitting me right either.  I definitely need some mixing up like you said.

@riley1  Done!

@grandma2pkmh  I was too!  So as much as I liked it there, it came down as soon as I snapped the pic.  LOL

@Laura14  I think you could use some goupings of 3--like a tall bottle, a pitcher or storage cannister, and then something lower than the pitcher like a small bowl or something.  Grouping things in odd numbers is always easier.

@Sooner  I will try this.  I plan to go out again this weekend to see what I can find now that I am on my own time by myself.  Thanks!

First, I would not use the masks in a kitchene environment.

Second, you do have three of things on each shelf, that is good, odd is always good for decorating. But, perhaps maybe not so even - both on space in between and in height. Mix it up a tad perhaps.

Since you like purple - perhaps plates in solid purple or a purple pattern,  a vase or pitcher in the color family as well, and adding a little height difference.

(Nothing needs to be even steven as I say... see, I would put the two boxes together on one side and something taller on the other. Have fun until you are happy with the look! Most important!! 🙂
