Oooh...this sounds interesting; I never heard of these.

I just took a peek on Amazon and it looks like a series I might like.

I usually prefer non-fiction, like autobiographies, but occasionally, if I can find some good fiction to, as you say, "get lost in"...I do enjoy it. Sounds like a nice escape for this winter.

@beckyb1012 I'll have to see what order and where to start...do you recommend reading them in order?

The most recent series I discovered and am enjoying is the Mitford Series by Jan Karon, that I started last Spring. I'm on book 5 of that, but had taken a break from it to read a few good autobiographies recently.

They absolutely  must be read in order since they pick right up where they left off.  You will fall in love with the people and the village.  You can google :Cape Light book series in order" for the list.  Here is one below I have had on my computer for many years back when I first discovered the books at my library.  Enjoy and let me know what you think!!

Cape Light Series (in order)

Cape Light

Home Song

A Gathering Place

A New Leaf

A Christmas Promise

A Christmas Angel

A Christmas To Remember

A Christmas Visitor

A Christmas Star

A Wish For Christmas

On Christmas Eve

Christmas Treasures

A Season Of Angels

Songs Of Christmas

I have the Mitford series at home for decades now and reread it every year as well.  Did not watch Hallmark's movie since it was completely wrong.  We talked in the Book Forum about "who were those people in the movie, because they were not inour books!!"

@beckyb1012 Thanks so much for the list!

I already downloaded book 1 onto my Kindle from Amazon.

And my library has some of them too, so going forward I may borrow some from there too. I did Google the "list in order" right after I saw your post, but I will copy/paste and save yours to a file.

I'm excited to start it. It sounds similar to Mitford- the small community stories of characters, albeit a different setting. Love that it's New England since I can relate being in CT, and love Cape Cod, which "Cape Light" might be similar to.

I had abandoned my recent Mitford book when I read those biographies I mentioned, (Lucille Ball's autobiography, and Cynthia Lennon's "John.") So, as I hate to leave that hanging I might finish that first before starting this one. Lol...I sometimes do hop around and have a few books going at once...never an "intention" but it happens anyway. 🤷‍♀️

I'll definitely let you know what I think. Tks again! 📚❤️

The Mitford series is one of the best I ever read. Some times I would even laugh out loud. I did not want the series to end. In a few years I might just read them again.

We have two of his winter scenes above each nightstand in our bedroom. One is a large Victorian house with Christmas lights and the other has a horse and sleigh. So peaceful.

I love Kincade's winter scenes. I know they were "trendy" for a few years but I particularly love his snowy winter paintings. We actually had a large Kincade Gallery about 2 miles from our house back in the '90s. The parking lot always had a lot of cars. It closed around 2007. That seems like a very long time ago now.  Despite his human frailties, few can deny his true artistic talent. The knockoffs and attempts to counterfeit his paintings are a testimony to that. You can spot them from across the room.

I love his work too, and so does my Loved One, lingering in residential care.

I used to distain his moral and business failures, but the last two years have been a great leveler of ill placed contempt.

I'm enjoying a Kinkade Christmas Clock in my kitchen right now and hoping we'll all at some point have another day of   Kinkade Light to share with one another.

@violann  Beautiful sentiment. Prayers to you.
