I'm so glad that you're now able to focus on the exciting things coming up with your new home, instead of worrying about the surgery!
It's nice to hear you excited instead of worried!

My sister is bringing the paperwork for them to sign the blueprints today when she picks up my niece. It really has helped to have her to guide through the process. Her bid is so detailed we shouldn't have to many suprises along the way.

Congrats! When building a house or remodeling you must take things day by day since you can easily get overwhelmed with everything.
I too am having surgery on Thursday of this week. I'm having a TVT (AKA a bladder sling/bladder tack). I'm 36 and pee a bit when I sneeze. Apparently it isn't because you've had kids or need to strengthen your kegel muscles, but because of the supporting tissue below your urethra softens over time and allows the urethra to dip when you sneeze and gravity does the rest. My sister thought doing that when you sneeze was just part of being a woman. My surgeon does several of these a week, so she is very well experienced. Then only negative is showering the night before and the morning of with this special soap and going home in a catheter that will get removed the next morning. Apparently things can swell in 10% of patients and prevent them from peeing, so they get into an emergency situation, so home I go with a catheter. My mother is an RN so she can remove it or I'd have to go back to the doctor's an hour a way to have them do it. I'll be back at work Monday if all goes well.
I know your surgery is more involved, but I do understand your nerves and excitement at the same time. Odd combo, but a very real set of emotions that can be confusing. You are in an emotional time at home with the house and your future and your surgery, so you are really getting emotions from all kinds of places. Your emotions are very real and you have a right to feel all kinds of conflicting emotions right now. You are just normal......imagine that. I pray all goes well with your surgery and your adventure in home building. Spring is here, and you're blooming into a new stage of life!

I think you hit the nail on the head. It is really weird at having something that I am so nervous about at the same time having something so exciting. I haven't been to nervous the last week or so. I go have a final appointment Thursday before surgery. I am glad I do have something to be excited about and keep my mind from the surgery. Hard to believe within a couple weeks after surgery we will be starting to see things happen over on the property. I have been telling myself I am very lucky and blessed. I have parents that welcomed me with open arms back home when I got sick. People go through much worse and risky surgery turn I am having. I mean it's on my jaw. It's not like it's my heart. I just want it over with and to get back home.
Good luck with with your surgery we well.

My sister just told me our oldest sister found out through her regular gyn exam that her bladder is dropping. My oldest didn't even know about it as no problems presently. I wonder if that's the same as you?
Either way, sending good vibes to you that you have a quick recovery. That's fantastic you can go back to work so soon. Well, fantastic it's over and done that quickly, not so much having to go to work! LOL.

@Lucky Charm My bladder isn't dropping just the urethra opening. I think the bladder dropping has to do with the muscles and tendons that support it. There is a procedure for that too, but I can't think of the name right now. I did get told that I have a very large bladder, so that is good. THe doc wants me to go to the bathroom at least every two hours or every hour and not hold it so long. I just get busy and forget to go or eat. I hit the floor running when I get to work and don't stop until I leave. I did decide to take the whole week off and get some things done before surgery and go to my niece's egg hunt with her Pre-K class. That was toady. I'm pooped after walking 4 blocks to the park, following her around for 3 hours and then walking back. She had fun so it was worth it.
Thanks for the good vibes. I'm really looking forward to not peeing when I sneeze. It is spring here, so I'm sneezing all the time!
