Joy Mangano's miracle mop for many consumers is not a joy to use, nor a miracle mop!

[ Edited ]

Ms. Joy Mangano sold a mop called Miracle Mop and the Miracle Mop bucket, as a recent HSN today's special a short time ago.

She said during her today's special of only the mop (bucket sold separately), that she sold 250,000 of her Miracle Mops, and brought more Miracle Mops in than her Miracle Mop buckets. They were offered in a variety of colors.

Evidently many HSN customers who bought the mop were out of luck when they tried buying the matching mop bucket.

Ms. Mangano said she did not order the same # of buckets as her HSN Today's Special Miracle Mops.

That being said I read the reviews at HSN today, and they were mixed. Many are returning the Jpy Mangano items because they cannot operate them as easiliy as Joy Mangano and HSN show hosts demonstrated while airing the HSN Today's Special.

I also looked at all the YouTube video's, and besides the video's about the Movie in theaters about the life of Joy Mangano, they had HSN hosts demonstrate the usage of the Miracle Mop & Bucket in the YouTube video's with Ms. Mangano.

Also on YouTube they had HSN customers who bought their Miracle Mops/Miracle Mop Buckets demonstrate how they operate, how to remove the reusable Miracle Mop Head, and there were a few YouTube Miracle Mop and Bucket consumers video's I saw which were too funny for words.  r

"Although many HSN consumers tried their best, they really looked confused, perplexed, and quite  embarassed, as they tried time and again to demonstrate how the Miracle Mop and removable Mop Head functions. It wrings itself out, can become a telescopic cleaning tool to reach high places, and is also used as a dry dust mop. Also the mop head is removeable, wwashable dryable and reusable.

It is a mop that self rings when the handle is pulled, then the mop head drops down to mop the floor, and the funniest was some people trying to handle those functions on You Tube not easily, and certainly not very well, but I gave them a thumbs up for all their hard effort displayed.

Their obvious distress and frustration only confirms what many find Mangano's Miracle Mop to be......" which is  neither easy, nor a miracle to use, and I won't even discuss the hilarity I witnessed when many desperately tried to change the mop head, and then put it back on.

Evidently many feel those items Ms.Joy Mangano offered to HSN consumers were certainly not easy to operte and manuver, nor a joy to use.  Many also found them heavy, and very cumbersome to use.

Unfortunately some items are not as promised, but this one many consumers felt should have been sold on HSN as a Miracle Mop and Miracle Mop Bucket....and not sell the items seperately just to have the consumer frusterated after they purchased the mop and their color matching bucket either sold out or was not ever in stock to accomodate all the mops Ms. Mangano brought in.

Why Joy Mangano did not bring in enough matching mop buckets, and brought in more mops leaving many HSN consumers high and dry, was not professional at all.

I do not begrudge anyone for making $ on their inventions, especially if the item really is easy to operate and well received, as was demonstrated by HSN hosts & Ms. Mangano.

Many HSN consumers felt life is too short to have to remember all those steps to use a mop, change a mop head, take it off, and put a clean mop head one back on.

GIve me my industrial mop and wringer bucket anytime which is a breeze to operate, wrings out quickly and very well, and offers not one but 3 separate compartments...1 to add to the cleaning floor solution, 2nd one to keep plain rinse water hot, and 3rd compartment for more clean hot rinse water. They all have separate spigots which never leak, and a tube which attaches easily to drain the water out easily.

They also have sturdy non damaging wheels on the commercial mop bucket, which roll quietly and effortlessly.

As for the mop heads they are also removable, easily washed and dried, and placed back on the mop with no stress whatsoever.  They are also reasonably priced should a new commercial mop head be desired.

Commercially made in the U.S.A. products with simplicity at their best, is what I prefer, and for 30 years I have truly found my commercial 3 compartment mop bucket on wheels with matching commericail removable mop head to be so darn easy to operte and a real joy to use and clean.

It has never failed me in 30 years, and I am glad I bought it when I did, because today most items are manufactured cheaper overseas, and we all know many are not as promised, and certainly not made to last.

Many items now offered from overseas can never compare to similar items sold in the U.S.A., when integrity and respect meant a lot, as well as producing a better type of product built with USA pride, to last and last. Also U.S.A Government guidelines were strict then, and had to be adhered to, and complied with.

Re: Joy Mangano's miracle mop for many consumers is not a joy to use, nor a miracle mop!

Well if you've ever read any of my posts you know I'm not usually so flippant.  However.......ummmmm......

It's just a freaking mop.  If you didn't like it, send it back.  Goodness knows I've sent back enough stuff on QVC and HSN.

It never looked like a good idea to me (and most of the time I don't know which end is up on anything).

I mean you can wring it out but so what?  If anyone's floors look like mine it takes more than a little swishing to get the dirt off of the mop to go at the floor again.  Plus I would think it would take some good arm muscle to push down the thing to make it twist.

I don't know.  I buy way, way too much junk from QVC and HSN (just ask my family.....my daughter says, "Mom, if you send me one more humidifier I'm call QVC to ask them not to sell you anymore".

Well, I passed on that mop.  Please don't get so worked up over the mop.  I know it is a pain to send stuff back.  Often they don't even want the stuff back and will refund your money.

I'm sorry to be so flippant but I have never known anyone to get so upset about a mop.  Now if you want to talk about Humidifiers, I'm your girl.

I applaud her for being a great entrepreneur, however I never liked her original mop sold on QVC or her Piatto box, which broke when my husband was carrying a lemon pie that he just baked for his family.  I never heard the end of that.

@GSPgirl Oh!  My goodness!  I thought I was the only person to buy that thing.  You'll agree that you had to have seen the thing to appreciate that you needed an engineering degree to figure out how to put the thing together.

I never could figure out how to put it together.  So.....I did what I usually do...I gave it to one of my friends (never have any of the directions to anything), she figured it out and as far as I know uses it.

I'm happy now, I thought I was the only one to buy that thing!

I do agree with you.  I think she's an awesome business woman.  I own so many of those hangers and have given them away I could open a store with only those to sell (I'm not exaggerating).

I love those hangers of her's.

I don't like using a regular mop anyway. I use a steam mop so I avoid chemicals. The whole concept reminded me of an old Libman mop I had. Nothing new there.

I love the spin mop, best mop I ever had, and I hate mopping.

I personally think mopping with a string mop,  Joy's or any other,  is the most strenuous job in the home.   It take much strength and energy.   I can no longer do it.   Give me a sponge mop and a steam mop.   My spin mop is permanently residing in a distant corner of the garage.

Mopping is very back laborsome, so I use a steam mop which takes the scrubbing out. If it is tough situation just let the steamer sit on it and off it comes. This is way less work that mopping, plus no chemicals.
