It always takes me longer to clean anything.
Five minutes to cook a steak on the grill. Ten minutes to clean the grill to my satisfaction.
Two seconds to drop a glass. Ten minutes to be certain all the shards are cleaned up.
Two seconds to spill coffee on the carpet. Fifteen minutes to sop up, clean, soak, clean, sponge, sop up some more.
I need to stop dropping things.

Are we including Easter grass? Because that takes 6 months to a year to clean up.

@PA Mom-mom You bring up an excellent point. My husband LOVES glitter on Christmas cards and ornaments. Years later you can find glitter around the house. Once in a while you see that reflection and there's ONE bit of it somewhere.
During December and January (taking the tree down) he always had some on his face. . .
@PA Mom-mom You are spot on with your thoughts!!!!![]()

Oh my gosh, that's exactly why I refuse to buy anything with glitter. And how my excitement over receiving a Christmas card from someone turns to momentary dread receiving a card with glitter.
The worst is walking through an aisle at Home Goods and somehow transporting some home.

@Sooner Oh, yes! I should have included glitter with my comment. It shows up when you least expect it.

@PA Mom-mom Like at the fourth of July party and people think "Haven't they swept since Christmas?"

It depends on the type of mess! A mess can mean a lot of different things. To some, a mess may mean something small - to others, a mess can mean something really large! Cleaning up something as soon as possible is preferable, if you can!

Very true-- the last one--for me. I have such a tiny kitchen--is 8' x 7'--that making coffee looks like a bomb hit it!!! Drives me insane!!!
