Very sweet, cozy and nostalgic, all of which are positives in my book...

And no, the presence of one cat by the stove does not read 'crazy cat lady' to me...

@stevieb Just checking. I'm not familiar with people's irrational fears of cat/dogs, especially cats in our society. I suppose to be egalitarian we need a dog in the pic too. If this pic qualifies as crazy cat lady then I'm way overboard insane with four cats and an African grey parrot. Shoot, I may be living in the asylum and just not know it yet. But I do like the stove and cook on one when the family does our cane grindings to make cane syrup.

All these pictures scream cozy home to me.  I'd be perfectly happy living in any of them, cat and all (and I'm a dog owner).  That living room (or family room) that @Spurt posted is so inviting that it makes me want to re-decorate.  And that kitchen in the first post just makes me happy and warm inside.

Nothing about the first post picture elicits warm fuzzy feelings for me.  I just don't relate to it.

I have been looking for something that reads home for me, but haven't found it yet.

I think I am waffling between what is actually home and comfortable right now and what I might like in an as-yet-unrealized home.
