When I see sample rooms, often times they're only shown from one angle.  I got to see the rest of the house and the featured room, which I think influences my opinion of the rooms when they're finished.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about.

This, to me, is an interesting room, perhaps a study of someone who has traveled?

I adore this home designed by Heidi Woodman of Haus Love , a shop and design firm located in In...:

It's not my taste, but it appeals to me.

Some of you may say that it's too dark/heavy, but look at it from a different perspective.

Re: It's all About Perspective

Here is the dining room, which could also read "dark".  Again, it's not something that I would do in my house, but I like it.

And here it is from a different perspective-

Looking from the hallway in, it appears that the house gets plenty of light with the white walls, so it doesn't appear too dark.

Wouldn't want to clean that chandelier but a warmer room than the modern one you posted.I like it much better.

Re: It's all About Perspective

The very first picture in this post, seems to me like a 'real' room that I might see in someone's home.

The others that follow are unlike anything anyone I know (or anywhere I've been) has done.

Does anyone really decorate like some of these pictures we see in magazines or on some of the TV shows? Anyone but celebs, that is!LOL

I like 1,2,and 3 then the chandelier comes in to the picture and it is too much for me. I like it for someone else...just not me.

Not a fan of any of the rooms.....too modern, too cold and sterile to me.......

I don't love the black/white theme in decorating.  (Generally.)

When Theresa Caputo (LI Medium) re-did her house I thought it looked hideous.  Even though I really like her, her style in all things seems to be way over the top.

Re: It's all About Perspective

I too like 1,2,3 but not the rest. The chandelier is not doing it for me, and the wall is too blue and It just does not appeal to me.....I think the 1st 3 are very cool, especially in a home where someone has traveled extensively-what a cool way to display their travel items.
