Thank goodness, finally something that I have no problem with, lol. I regularly toss things that have no use left to them. Right into the trash bin it goes without a second thought. I re-cycle what I can, but if it's trash...it's trashed.

What do you do with old towels?  I called a nearby animal shelter and they didn't want them.

@Snoopp, my husband and son use those for washing the car and waxing it, if soft enough. If they then are too dirty to clean, toss them.

Ours end up in the rag bag, or if we just have too many, I give them to our vet's office. They always need them for the animals. I do that with old blankets and throws and some sheets as well.

Our vet has a sign up asking for old linens.  She uses them in surgery and tosses them later.
