I much prefer the dark blue and many of the pictures showing the color are lovely and appealing.  Back in the early seventies I had one wall of a living room painted navy blue, the other walls off white.  The navy stood out in many ways and enhanced everything in the room!  Love.

I don't know about "new black" but it wouldn't surprise me to see this as a rebellion from the years of gray.

The gray paint in my house has a blue undertone.  It works well with shades of blue, gray, and even black.  White in some rooms makes for a good contrast.

I’m not really a blue person when it comes to selecting colors for my home. Still, I like most of these. I don’t think I would do every wall in a room dark blue, but an accent wall like the second bedroom or partial wall like in the bathrooms might be ok for me.

I like the use of blue in these rooms best.

These were some of my favorites as well. I love the use of navy in these rooms.

@liliblu - I love the color blue. In my last house, I had a 600 sq foot kitchen. There were lots of windows and an 8' sliding door. I found the perfect navy and painted all the walls that color. It was gorgeous.

Most of them are very nice,  but we have NO BLUE in our home at all.  Not our color.

Re: Is Dark Blue the New Black?

@liliblu,  I've always loved navy blue, as pretty much a neutral in home decor.  It always looks great with art, and with mellow wood tones in antiques, too.  The example you show of navy with the brick in the kitchen is beautiful.  Also love the navy hearth, and the living room with round tufted ottoman, and the fresh looking bathroom.  Great examples!
