The firebox looks awfully small.    Is it a real wood-burning fireplace?

I like the fireplace and the simple design and neutral color scheme so the fireplace can be the undisputed center of interest.  Then i noticed the ceiling and ugh.

@Desertdi.  It may be a coal-burning fireplace.  It looks sort of Scandinavian.   It's turquoise so I love it.

It's ugly and I don't think it fits in with the furniture.  Now if you brought in some wood antique pieces, that would be a different story.
