Re: If you use laundry soap pods.....

So many comments here that say using the pods makes doing laundry so much easier. I don't use pods, I think the liquid works fine. But I have to ask..how hard is it to fill the cup/cap from the liquid bottle to whatever level for load your doing, and throw that in the machine? Is that hard? Not connecting the dots on how using a pod makes doing laundry so much easier.

Liquid you have to pick up the bottle and measure in the cap. The big bottle I was buying was about 7 lbs and a larger area to store it. I use the Costco brand pods that come in a small canister type container. I pick a pod, throw it in the washer and I'm done. No lifting the bottle. No measuring. No cleaning out the cup after I've poured the liquid or cleaning the side of the bottle because I didn't. I know exactly how much I have left. I look in the canister type container and over 5, enough for the week and if under 5, buy more pods.

To each their own.. You like liquid. That works for you. I like pods. I like the convenience. No mess, and no guessing when I'm running out.

Power to the PODS!! To the poster that said they were confused about how to use them--they must go in the washer FIRST, then the clothing or bedding otherwise they won't dissolve properly. Can only speak for the Tide pods which are liquid.

Re: If you use laundry soap pods.....

I do realize 1/2 pods aren't going to be 1/2 price. I just hate being wasteful. I did break down and buy a bottle of liquid detergent yesterday. I just need it once in a while for dinky loads.

I usually try to have full loads, but sometimes I just don't. For instance, I wash all new clothes by itself in case of dye transfer or fleece coming off and sticking to other fleece.

I also wash reds by itself because red comes off on whites.

I have some nicer tops, but they don't make a full load. I have a very large capacity washer and dryer.

Yesterday I bought DH some new socks and underwear (all dark colored). I wanted to wash them with vinegar to set the color in, but they didn't make a full load.

Thanks for all your responses.
