Re: If Little Red Riding Hood Had a Kitchen...

No to the red counter tops. Plus what’s up with the backsplash? Doesn’t match anything that I saw.

😱😱

I would not want to live there but it is fun seeing a kitchen like that.  Notice that kitchen counter tops appear painted instead of a tiled or stone look but it is interesting to say the least.  It is reminiscent of my mother's kitchens, particularly my memory of the red counter tops and red ceiling (but we had lime colored walls) and plain wooden floors.

That is a most beautifully tiled backsplash in Dutch delft.  My favorite.  The delft blue backsplash seems to tie in what appears to be her plate collection.  See the plates above the door and it ties the blues of the floors and adjacent room colors together.

I'd take it, although it seems rather small.

I love the stove. My dream is to have a Bluestar. In red. Someday.....

@lolakimono  I love it and think that it is perfect for a country kitchen.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I like it - however, I would put a different tile up behind the stove.

My friend had a red/white kitchen and decorated with either chickens or roosters - a fun kitchen.

Re: If Little Red Riding Hood Had a Kitchen...

While I would give the kitchen an "A" for originality, and overall difference from all other kitchens I have seen in magazines, I think there is too much going on with all the colors, from the checked (gingham?) red and white ceiling, to the blue, off-white, red, and green tiled flooring with fruit on it, to the red countertops, and red knobs on the stove.

I would like to see this kitchen without those red items, and instead with a white ceiling, white tiles on the floor to include, a thin stripe or two of blue, or blue and white floor tiles to make some kind of decorative border along edges of the flooring to tie in the backsplash, and perhaps even blue countertops if more color is desired.

As is, it seems like the decorator was trying to warm up the bold whiteness of the room, due to the stark white cabinetry, with the use of red.  My problem is the inclusion of so many other colors.  Red and white are not typically paired in a kitchen or in any other room. Interesting to look at initially, but then hard on my eyes.

The only think I really don't like is the wallpaper on the ceiling. I think a white ceiling would be my choice. Other than that I like it.

Nope, not a good look for a kitchen. To busy and the only thing that is cohesive is the red color. Add the plaid wallpaper and matching curtains visiable from the ajoining room and it is one hot mess. I'll pass.

I wouldn’t want it in my home, but I do love it!
