Idyllic Woodway, Washington estate custom built by the city's founder in the 1920s asks $16.7M

[ Edited ]

This home is located in Woodway, WA a little north of Seattle on Puget Sound.  This doesn't look like the typical home in the PNW, perhaps due to its age (built in the 1920's).  I like a lot about it, it seems very tasteful & elegant.  Not in my budget, though!

Here's a story from the Seattle PI newspaper about it:

Here's the realtor listing, which has many more photos:

I like the house and property, not the decor.

The property and views are beautiful!  Very impressive house - love that it was built in the 1920's.  I'd make some design, furnishing, paint changes, but overall a really nice house!

In general, unlike an actual estate might, these sort of mega-mansions don't tend to wow me. This one has a beautiful facade and while it's an impressive property in many ways, I'm not placing a bid... Smiley Wink Also, not feeling most of the interiors...

I think it's lovely even though there are too many brownish colors there.

I have a weakness for 1920's baronial stone houses-- there's something about beautiful old stone that is so sturdy and reassuring!   The city of Toronto has similar, even older Edwardian and Victorian edifices that I've always loved.

While I might have to tweak a few of the interior rooms to suit, I'd be thrilled to have that opportunity, and to live in that magnificent natural setting....

Beautiful home.....The first room I would repaint and refurnish is the Dining Room.

With some decor changes this would be stunning.
