INTERIOR DESIGNER SUZANNE KASLER

[ Edited ]

She's one whose rooms I've admired here and there, but only recently realized how good her body of work really is.

Let's see, I'd describe her style as feminine but vigorous, knowledgeable, luxe.  More "edited", lighter than Ralph Lauren's, but equally glamorous.  Great eye for color, and a certain wit.

Here's a smattering of rooms, NOT from the same house, but different projects she's done:

Love those glam footstools.

Her formal dining rooms are lovely:

This one has that whimsical, almost fairytale quality you see in some of her designs.

And her more casual ones, sweet!  The unexpected chandelier nice touch.

High drama in an entryway.

But she does well on a smaller scale too.

I was trying to analyze the drama of this entry, that lacks a staircase.  Decided it's the contrasts-- of the gorgeous polished floor with the walls, the high lacquer black door (love black doors) and the unexpected, luxurious green velvet benches....  among other things!

Charming, not-large kitchen corner.

And a kitchen she did in an old log house called "Toad Hall"!

Am always interested in the libraries she does.  Gorgeous windows here with beautiful, alabaster-looking pendant light.

Another library.  Burnished wood, vintage crystal light, abstract art, quirky globe collection.

This one beckons through open doors, love the bunnies.

Another view of those cute bunnies.  Warm neutrals, animal print, wood, then spiked with the surprise of rich purple!

Here, the walls are uncharacteristically dark for her, but the room is enlivened by the light furnishings, the lamps, and witty, surreal deer portrait.

Love this living room's combo of fine finishes, lacquer and gilt, yet to me it feels so comfortable too!

I have a question.  Had I the space, I'd LOVE to have an oversize art piece on the wall of my bedroom.  How do you feel about that?  Is art too stimulating for a room designed for relaxation?  Or if it is sympatico, does it just increase the inviting quality for you?

A smaller, more casual bedroom.  Tropical feel gives a vacation vibe.

More of her joyous use of color.

I find her an inspiring designer, even if she's working at a sphere way too rich for my blood!   Love the stacking vintage suitcases she's pictured with here.

As you said, @Oznell I agree:

@Oznell   thanks for posting.    Fun to see what a combination of taste, talent, and money does.

I like to live on the casual side, so will do some searching for more of her work that fits who I am.   Even if I suddenly came into huge money (not happening), I hope I'd still be me.

I love her work. The rooms have a timeless, understated elegance. The materials look sumptuous. She never designs with an over decorated look. The artwork she chooses never looks cookie cutter or low end. Love the window treatments, molding and color choices. Love the choice of lighting fixtures. Love how she broke up the monotony of color in the predominately taupe room with the use of black doors and black coffee table.

Re: INTERIOR DESIGNER SUZANNE KASLER

Rooms one and two are stunning, elegant and full of beauty in furnishings and decor.  Oh, that chandelier!!

I do love all the rooms, the libraries, kitchens, spectacular staircases, stunning entry way, all so appealing and designed beautifully.  I do admire this designer!

As far as having an over sized piece of art work in my bedroom, I would love it if as you said, Oznell, there is enough space.  I probably would opt for a landscape/seascape  It would be challenging to find something that large to put on a wall that wouldn't overwhelm the room!
