I need a new iron

over the years we've had everything from cheap Black & Decker to expensive Rowentas ( 3 of them) and after about a year ( of course, no warranty) they start dripping and making a mess of the item we were trying to iron. I saw a brief presentation this morning on HSN of the Singer Expert Finish 1700 watt steam iron and it looked really tempting. I've read most of the reviews. the review average is 4.7 stars. only one review said it leaked. a few thought it was nothing special, and most everyone else raved about it.

can anyone recommend a really good iron?
