Without question that CIJ is the best time to shop for new exciting items. JPC, how annoying about your garland. Bring on the plug-ins in 2015! I'm looking too. SHOPR, add on the bliss lights with the flash pad. My ultimate fast-forward item I can't watch is the foot shaving thing-a-majig. Hope all is good to all, as I haven't been around a lot! Merry Christmas!I never watch QVC. My DVR automatically picks up Valerie's and Lisa's shows, but otherwise I would never know of anything interesting being offered except for all of you informed posters. My new year's resolution (already made) is to limit my purchase of decorative items significantly this year. So, I'm looking forward to Valerie's spring and summer shows for the ideas, but not for the products.
Hi BTS,
I also love CIJ or Valeries shows for the same reason, chatting and sharing with our forum friends. I think that is a lot of the fun of it. So many good ideas and enabling going on here.
I do think the plug in garlands are harder to find, at least on the Q. They seem to have gone to the battery ones. I am thinking hard of buying some of the plug in branch trees for my GB village. I have the battery operated ones already and they really go thru the batteries and seems like I am changing them all the time. Just can't push the order button yet. A little pricey but getting closer everytime I change batteries.
Agree about the foot thing too. Gross.
Hope things slow down for you at work soon.

Hi JPC: So sorry to hear about your mantle. That stinks when you are ready to have folks over. I'm sure your quilt club pot luck went well without that garland anyway....
. Finally got my decorations up and all my Jim Shore pieces out. Had a great time with some of the stuff we bought in CIJ 2014 so I guess I can count myself ready for the CIJ 2015 group too. Hope you have all your shopping under control. Got a few "extras" to do but otherwise planning on enjoying the season and all my new decor (thanks to everyone on this forum).

Hi MTH...quilt club pot luck went well and had many compliments on my decorations. I think a couple think I go overboard but hey it all makes me happy.
Bet your place looks really festive. Good feeling isn't it to have it all done and just sit back and enjoy it. I do enjoy all the sparkly lights and beautiful decorations. I just need to send off a box to DD and family but for the most part have it all done.
I don't have all my JS pieces out, have a table with a some of my snowmen on it and most of my Santas are out. Will get the rest of the snowmen out after I take down my Xmas decorations and they will stay out till we no longer have snow. Am enjoying all my new JS pieces that I picked up this year.
Good seeing you MTH, seems like you have been away as much as I have. I am hoping things will settle down now and I can get in here more but I do have to finish a baby quilt before the end of the year before the baby gets here.

Good to see you too. I tried to check in here and there but didn't see many folks around. I'm sure everyone is very busy these days. You better get busy on that baby quilt. Is the quilt for DH done too?? I still want to see the Pokey Puppy Quilt if you are able to post a pic. Gonna bake cookies this weekend. Seems like we just had so much fun discussing CIJ and now December is here. I haven't seen too much about JS. Last year he did that live online show on Skyline but I didn't see that mentioned this year. I thought that show was sort of fun to watch. Was hoping they would do it again but guess his schedule didn't permit. Do you have special plans for Christmas Day???

Hi MTH,
Got the quilt for Mr Crazy done about 3 weeks ago so that part is done. I will try to find time to mess with PB and get the picture of the pokey little puppy quilt on there to share with you. Just don't take the time, or I think have the patience, to mess with PB. One of those things I keep putting off.
What kind of cookies are you baking this weekend??? I usually bake some sugar cookies for DS, as they are his favorite but haven't done that yet. My big problem is if I bake them, I eat them.
Haven't seen too much on JS either. I thought his 2015 releases should be coming out soon but haven't received anything on them or I missed it.
No plans for Christmas, Have to check with son and DIL to see if they plan on coming over but it will be a quiet one. How about you. You going to have to do lots of cooking???

Hi Lucy,
I hadn't seen you around for awhile either. Did you receive all your goodies and have you been happy with everything??? I didn't get as much this year but have been pretty happy with everything except the BL Poinsettia garland. A few things, I wished I had ordered a couple more sets. Never happy are we
Hope you are enjoying all your decorations as I am. I so enjoy just sitting and enjoying all the lights and pretty things. Very relaxing.
Have a good weekend and hope things are slowing down for you.

Hi JPC, I did receive a lot of nice items this year and am happy with most all of it. One of the items that I bought in As Is that I really love is Lisa R's Poinsettias. I got two sets of each color and I'm always wishing that I had more, lots of places to use them. I also am in love with all the picks, I went stark raving crazy for picks this year.
We had dinner at church today and now I need to make cookies and candy for here at home as Christmas will be at my house as it always is. I too love my decorated house with all the lit items, I need stock in a battery factory though.
Have a great weekend and enjoy all the wonders of this season.

Yes and the Fall decor shows. All this every day stuff is so boring. See the same stuff in stores 300 whatever days a year.
