I agree. Even if you spend a lot on something, you're lucky if you get 5 years out of it now. Doesn't make sense to buy expensive appliances today. I've read there is no competition now to make good appliances. Only a few manufacturers who make them. It isn't the customer's imagination. My boss had an expensive Samsung refrigerator and the ice machine broke within a couple of years. When we bought a Kenmore fridge a couple of years ago, there was a lot of bugs to get fixed. This was within warranty period (actually in the first month!). Repair guy said even if you asked for a replacement of the fridge, you'd get a whole other set of bugs to fix. Said best advise is to buy the extended warranties they send out for the product.
