Re: I just finished decorating for Fall!

I can totally understand decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving but decorating NOW for the Fall well it's certainly something I would not consider doing. It's summer here in New York and I enjoy the beauty of summer such as filling my vases with lovely hydrangeas snipped fresh from the bushes around my home, fresh lemons & limes in a bowel on my counter, the pool and the beach!!! I love the summer and have no desire to rush into Fall.

Re: I just finished decorating for Fall!

I was in a new Hobby Lobby yesterday and looking at all the new things for fall but too early for me. I will start my decorating in September/October and have some ideas I want to try.

Enjoy your fall and obviously you are a big fan. Me too.

I do not change my decor with the seasons, I have a set of Winter and Summer quilts and shams that is the only change I make

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

Can't wait to see your pictures! Can't believe the nerve of some people to complain about when YOU decorate YOUR home, with things that YOU purchased with YOUR own money, and did it on YOUR own schedule!

The older I get, the more I realize just how short life can really be (local teen passed last night after a terrible car accident, always puts things into perspective) and if we enjoy something, and it isn't illegal or immoral or harmful to anyone's health, why shouldn't we do it. If a mercury glass Christmas tree sitting on the end table makes you smile in August (don't know who would do that?????) then do it. If decorating for fall in August is your thing, go for it. If you feel most comfortable only having Christmas decor up for two weeks, then do it! There are no wrong answers, only people who like to knit pick.

There is nothing wrong with us sharing what our decor style preferences are, when we like to change out for the seasons/holidays, what we like and don't like, but it is just childish when someone offers up a nice friendly post, to act like they have lost their mind because we disagree with their choices. A simple statement that it is too soon and too hot (in the opinion of someone responding to a post) to be thinking about a particular decor changes is enough.

{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Life can change in an instant and your whole world turns upside down. Do what makes you happy and what you enjoy. After all, who are you hurting???

I am so sorry for the loss in you town of the young person who had their whole life ahead of them. Such a sad time for all but more so for the parents. My heart is breaking for them.

Enjoy your fall decorations Susan Louise!!! and all the birdies.

I don't decorate for Fall until the leaves on the trees outside start turning color...sometime in late September, early October.

Fall decorating is my FAVORITE - even more than Christmas.

Does anyone else love Fall the most?

Re: I just finished decorating for Fall!

I love fall and all the beautiful colors terrier3 but still have to go with Xmas. But fall is a very close 2nd. I really enjoy my fall decorations.

I just picked up a really nice garland at Michaels the other day. Darn didn't have a coupon so had to pay full price but didn't know when I would get back that way so thought I'd better grab it or I would regret it.

Re: I just finished decorating for Fall!

Susan Louise posted about her fall decorations, she was happy with what she did and wanted to share her happiness. She neither asked for opinions nor approval from anyone so what's with the judgement about it? It's one thing to say when you decorate but quite another to belittle her for her choice in timing. What she did sounds lovely to me and although it might be too soon for me to decorate, for her it's not.

Recognize the embrace the fact that we're all different, that's what makes life more interesting.

You said it oh so eloquently, Curly! And Susan Louise, I share your happiness. Just as some shop for fall fashions in August or Christmas decorations in July, its their perogative. I am a future kind of girl, love to look ahead to what life has in a store! : )

Re: I just finished decorating for Fall!

I don't decorate for fall as we don't really have a fall. (Fall colors don't go with my color palette.)

It's summer themed all year long including Christmas. I just found a beautiful Christmas tree made out of coral at an inland estate sale this weekend. Looks like it was sprinkled with sugary crystals. Now I can't WAIT to put it out. I could, actually-- as it whitish.

Enjoy your fall colors!
