One time my outdoor outlets stopped working (both front and back of house) and we couldn’t figure out why. Come to find out they are on the same line as a gif outlet in the basement which tripped. It seems crazy to me that these outlets are all interconnected.

@2blonde ROFLMAO! I'll be sure to give him and the neighbor a thrill tonight just in case.

@itsmagic I guess I am going to stalk every outlet inside and out and reset every single one to see if the outlets come back. I swear we need that map or at least a prize for figuring out the maze.

Its complicated. Little did we know after 30 years in our home that the GFI switch in our bathroom controlled the two outlets in our garage. We found that out when our cable went out. The Comcast representative told us to check for an indicator light on the cable plug. No indicator light. Both garage outlets had no power.

I'm an idiot. My mother's husband texted me and said there is a new breaker box on a different wall that they installed when they did the construction.
I come home and guess what? There is a second breaker box now on a different wall in the basement!
I flipped both switches for the outlet and microwave and it's alive!! Of course, I did this after crawling on my hands and knees outside resetting every outlet I could find.
I am now going to play the Weird Science song and make some lunch.
Thanks for all your help and tips. I am glad I could be your entertainment for the day.

They put outside outlets on the same GFCI as bathrooms/basements because puddled water outside can be just as hazardous as water in a sink or bathtub.

And @Laura14... New York heaves a collective sigh of relief that you found the errant breaker box...
