Re: I guess we are ALL cleaning & purging!!!

I've been purging kitchen items for awhile to take to our local hospice resale store.

Well, too late for now, but my kitchen table sure is cluttered!  LOL

I only wish my cleaning guardian angel would give me a swift kick...

Re: I guess we are ALL cleaning & purging!!!

I have all this time on my hands right now and for some reason I just can't get motivated to get a darn thing done. I don't know why. Normally I am so busy but now I just feel lazy. Hoping this will pass soon along with the virus.

@speedy girl  these days Lazy is okay but Fatigue is a concern. Please consider how your feeling carefully.   Turn off the news and if you can, get outside. Take a walk or just sit outside if weather permits.  Pick a small project like organizing a dresser drawer, something that takes only a little while.  Stress can make you want to hunker down big time but sitting in a corner all day is not good.  I hope your get your energy back soon.  Chin up, eyes open, Carry ON!

Re: I guess we are ALL cleaning & purging!!!

I'm stil working 3 days a week, outside the house, so my schedule hasn't changed at all yet. I'm hoping that it doesn't. Hubby and the kids are home and they have done a bit of extra aurface cleaning for me, which has helped, but no decluttering or really deep cleaning, they leave that for me.

When I am off, even though I'm stuck at home, I just don't feel like cleaning or decluttering. Maybe I will just get started on something, anything, to try to take my mind off what is going on around here. I just haven't been able to get really motivated.

I hadn't even thought that the donation centers wouldn't be accepting items. Even if I do find items to donate they will just be sitting here anyway. But maybe I can get some ready to go.

Re: I guess we are ALL cleaning & purging!!!

I'm donating my family room furniture to Habitat for Humanity but they've rescheduled twice (understandably).  During the last call, the lady told me the store was closing due to the virus.  My pick up day is now the end of March so fingers crossed.

We also have a neighborhood garage sale coming up next Saturday.  We've stocked piled stuff for months and spent days organizing and pricing items.  We have A LOT and I'm hoping it won't be canceled.

Re: I guess we are ALL cleaning & purging!!!

I have a list of daily chores that do get done every day but I'm so bad when it comes to dusting.  So that's what I did this week along with changing out to Spring decorations.

After I was done yestyerday morning I pulled out quilt blocks I started over a year ago and went back to work on them.  Perfect because today is National Quilting Day!

Re: I guess we are ALL cleaning & purging!!!

I agree that it's a good idea to continue with as much structure during the day as possible. I still get up at the same time each morning and make a schedule for myself , including many things I always do, adding more cleaning, cooking or baking and reading. This week I need to do more walking outdoors again.

I hope not to need to make a grocery run until next week at the earliest. When I do, it will be to a small store, not my regular large grocery or Walmart. No way.
