purchase a mattress from the Q, that it is a TSV. I have to feel a mattress before we purchase one. Obviously many do, but it still amazes me.

I've bought two mattresses on line, and been very happy. One from the Tempur-pedic site, one from QVC (pedic solutions). I prefer memory foam over inner spring and I also enjoy not having to fight crowds at the storefronts.

The thing about buying a mattress on the q is that it's a medium comfort, which most people buy. It would never work for people that have medical issues and need a certain firmness. I purchased my last mattress locally. I tested it several times, on different days. All my research and testing resulted in a mattress that had to be returned. Years ago I ordered one from the q and may just do that next time.

There are pros & cons of both online and in-person mattress shopping. I just purchased a mattress set from HSN and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! The intense and thorough details I was able to get online was invaluable. No pressure, I took a week to decide and go back and read all the reviews and see the videos again & again. I also shopped in person at three different places and even though I got to feel mattresses in person, the salespeople were either extremely pushy, or uninformed. Another thing, lots of people do the in-person shopping first, and by the time they see it on TV, they know the mattress they want and the TV price is the best deal.

Do you buy shoes without trying? I bought queen in May of 2014 from QVC and bought a second one for guest room in August. Mine cost $599 and is zillions times better than store bought for $1,000......and a previous store one for $800.

But I'm amused you are amazed that we buy them and are satisfied.

I've never done it, but there are thousands who do. And QVC is far from the only company selling mattresses "long distancve." 1-800-mattres(s) has been aroudn for years now and that's their only (main?) business. Must work for lots of sleepers.

I bought a mattress instore from Macy's in 1990, it was soooo comfortable. Approximately 2005 it was time for a new one, I bought again from Macy's since I had loved my previous one. It was the WORST, i would wake up with horrible back pain. I called Macy's and they sent someone to look at the mattress. When he did his test you could see how the mattress dipped in the middle. He blamed it on my be frame, funny it was the same bed frame I had with the previous mattress and I had no problems. I had paid $2,000 for it on sale (that was 50% off). I couldn't justify buying another mattress at the time and endured the pain until I couldn't take it anymore. I bought a mattress on QVC last year when it was a TSV, I am completely satisfied with it, no more back pains - YEAH!!!! FYI - same bed frame, no dipping.

I live fairly rural so b&m stores are few and if you do take a trip to a store they may not deliver to your home. Add delivery charges and local sales tax plus gas, your time and travel to your purchase price.

I purchased 2 sets from the other channel, one Queen and was so happy with that I returned to purchase a King.

In my search I did try out various sets at differnt stores, noted the coil count and the depth of the pillow top. I read reviews before I purchased. Both sets were in the $1000-$1200 price range. No issue with delivery either time, setup was professional and I couldn't be happier.
