Humidifier question

We use a small humidifier in our bedroom at night and I empty/dry the base and container every morning per the instructions. I know that the issue with humidifiers is growing mold, but it's kind of a pain to do this every day. If I clean it with a vinegar solution weekly, do you think I could leave it filled during the week?
