Re: How do you change your home in the summertime?

I use lighter summery colored curtains. I change the throw pillows in the living room. In the kitchen I use a spring summer runner and placemats. In the bathrooms I use summery colored towels.

Re: How do you change your home in the summertime?

Mom used to change out the carpets for grass rugs in summer, lighter bed spreads and lighter meals; we had no ac or fans.  I keep things the same except change out bedding and always have the appropriate  seasonal wreath on the front door.

I move the Hibiscus and other plants outside.

Replace the winter wreath on the door with a hanging planter of real flowers.

Change the china to the Franciscan Daisy ones.

Put slipcovers on sofa, love seat, and chairs.

Replace window treatment with linen curtains.

Change bedding from comforters to summer weight coverlets.

Replace door mat with a new one.

Replace winter throw pillows and area rug with summer ones.

Bring out patio furniture.

Re: How do you change your home in the summertime?

I use lighter sheets and take off the comforters and put on quilts.  I bring out my favorite butterfly lamp from Pier 1 and other summer decorations that I have.  I change the runners that I have to more summer colors.  I bring out my patio  furniture for around the pool.
