Re: How do I get grease off cement steps?

I have also used Gumout carborator cleaner for stains on my garage floor. if the Dawn does not work pick up some Gumout in the automotive section of Walmart or similar store. Spray it on and wipe it up.

Re: How do I get grease off cement steps?

The replies you have got seem well worth a try. Start with an oxi product first. Get out as much as you can. Years ago my husband spilt about 1 cup or more of duck oil from the gas grill. It was a NEW patio, like one month old. The stain was about 8X 10, but on my NEW patio it looks 4 feet square! We tried everything. We started with carbonated water, then an oxi product that foamed (that really helped). We tried cement cleaners, and they worked the best. It had just soaked in,too deep...that was our problem. It wasn't smooth and sealed either. But it took a couple years before it just "wore off".

Put some kitty liter on it first. Then pour a can of coke over it. Scrub with a nylon brush using Dawn dish soap. Rinse well.

If Dawn doesn't do the job, try Simple Green.

My husband uses muriatic acid around the pool, but you have to be careful using it.

I'd go to a hardware store and buy some degreaser. One of the larger stores should have some people who can point it out for you.

If all these do not work....I used brake cleaner to remove a LARGE oil leak off my brand new driveway...worked like a dream!
