How are candles from Big Lots?

I'm looking for candles to put in gift baskets that I donate to animal rescue groups.  There are lots of other things in the baskets, but I like to include a candle.

I noted Big Lots has a Living Colors brand jar candle and I'm wondering if anyone has tried them.  They have mixed reviews.

While I try to buy more expensive candles when they are on sale, I wouldn't mind knowing if these burned evenly and had a decent throw.

Thanks in advance.

That's a nice thing you do. I'd use candles from BL.

I’ve been burning soy candles from Aldi’s...they are fabulous and inexpensive.  Such a thoughtful gesture with your gift baskets.

I always worry about them puttting out too much soot. I would go for the flameless which you can find just about every where now. A nice touch would be to put in the batteries too, if you wanted to spend a little extra.

Big Lots usually has several brands of candles. You could buy one and use it yourself and then decide if you wanted to use them in gift baskets.
