I have four on my sofa and they're huge.  My sofa is rarely used so when somebody sits on it at either end, they (I) have to removed two pillows.

I love pillows, but am not crazy with them. We do have 4 on our couch, and 3 on our bed....When we go to bed at night, we just toss them on the chair, and as for the couch, if when sitting on it just push them aside for more comfort.....I love the look of them!

I like the 1st pic and the 2nd, but the 2nd has maybe 2 more pillow on it than I would want.......

Zero pillows on my couch!   6 came with the couch and loveseat; I hate decorative pillows, and have never used them.   They are stored in space saver bags and will see daylight again when I buy new furniture and get rid of the current stuff.   

Only 2 pillows on my bed, for sleeping purposes; no extra pillows ever.   I am not a fan of pillows.

None of these mixtures does anything for me. As for how many, it depends on the sofa and the pillows. On my living room couch, I can go anywhere from three up to eight, depending on the look I'm seeking.

The only one you can sit on is the 1st photo.  The others are ridiculous.  When you have guests and there are so many pillows on the soda you cannot sit comfortably and you need to remove the pillows.  I have two pillows on the sofa at one end.

I have three pillows on my sofa, one on each end and one in the middle.  When Fall comes I put Halloween pillows out and I do the same when Christmas season arrives, Christmas related pillows.   But for the most part I just just put out the two or three pillows.

Not having decorator pillows is similar to not having a coffee table! I could not do it.

I have 3 pillows of various sizes on my sofa with a linen throw on one end. He has 2 pillows on his sofa with a big fluffy chinchilla throw.

On our bed we have 8 pillows--2 king and two standard that we sleep on and 4 decorator pillows that are removed before retiring.
