When we moved I gave the new owners our new address so in case any mail or anything slipped through they could forward it to us. As it turns out some mail did need forwarded, as well they sent me a nice thank you note for how clean the house was and a cake & champagne we had left for them in the fridge.

The wife was a pain in the neck - she kept coming over to visit the house a lot and eventually I just gave up on cleaning for her to visit because we had the house all full of boxes we had packed. Anyway, we got to know her well and she was nice, just overly excited to be getting a new house. Anyway, I felt like making the day a little more special so I told her attorney at the closing to make sure they went back to the house and that they looked in the fridge. She was so excited they opened the champagne and - since they didn't have any glasses - they( husband, wife and attorney) sipped it from the bottle. She said they had never had champagne before.

(I don't physically live there, so house address is not mine)
Hugs to you, just bling. I'm sure this was an emotional decision as well as a financial transaction for you. I hope you can feel some relief now that it's done.
I think the new owners will figure things out (as we all do, when we move into new homes). I doubt they'll ever try to contact you.

I have sold half a dozen or so homes and never had a buyer contact me except once. I got a call from a buyer about a year after we sold a home because the dishwasher had needed a repair. When the repairman took the dishwasher apart he found a opal and diamond ring down under the filter unit. She called to see if it was mine which it was. I had lost it about 3 years prior and searched everywhere for it before giving up. It had obviously slipped off my wet hands while loading the dishwasher and I never noticed. I was glad she called and that I got it back.
