Hoover Spin Scrub vs Hoover Floormate

What is the difference between these products? I have hardwood floors and linoleum and while I love my steam mop I'm thinking now and then you really need to scrub the floors. To get on my hands and knees to scrubs the floors is too painful for me with my knees - so I was thinking of either getting a long pole for my scrub brush and scrubbing the floors standing up or investing in either a Hoover Spin Scrub or Floormate - but don't know the difference between the two -

Does the Floormate/Spin Scrub really do a decent job?? Hoping they will have a TSV...

One of them I believe it's the Floormate, vacuums up debris before scrubbing. The other just scrubs. They had the spin scrub as a TSV about 4 months ago. It's the newer model.

Personally I don't think you need to scrub hardwood floors if they are in good condition. Clean with a wet Swiffer pad, not the Swiffer Wet Jet. The Swiffer will get your floors to a state you can eat off of them, meaning you won't get any dirt on a white cloth after cleaning them. All bets are off if you have deep scratches in the finish.

I bought a Hoover something or other about 10 years ago to use on an old linoleum floor that was in bad shape at our old house. That machine was so complicated I never used it again.

I got one of those (can't remember which) but stopped using it because it was removing the polyurethane from my hardwood kitchen floor. Maybe if you didn't use it with the scrubbing brushes it would be okay. I like the steamers. I then follow it with a dry mop thing to get up any residual water, etc.

Siam I have the Hoover Floormate. I use it once a month (in addition to physically mopping) on my cream tile kitchen floor. It does a superior job for me. I usually use the Floormate cleaner formulated for the machine but I have also used Mr. Clean, my fave.

My tile and grout is a light cream color. I have a lot of furbabies who track the outside in so this machine really helps keep my grout clean. Every few months I use a special grout brush and Chlorox Foaming Bleach cleaner. I read about the foaming cleaner here, and it's the best thing I have found for my floors!

Not sure my cleaning routine will work for you; certainly not on your wood floors! I use Bruce hardwood cleaner on my wood floors; use a microfiber spray mop and it works like magic.

The Floormate is a true time and back/knee saver for me. One of my daughters tried it and went to WM and bought one for her tile floors. She luvs it too.

I have the Hoover steam vac for my tile floors ... Long hall, laundry rooms, kitchen, bathrooms. I would never be without it. Love it. Would never use this on hardwood. I'm with whitelinen for care on hardwood. LM

I've had a Floormate for years. As someone else noted, it vacuums and scrubs. Works great but is not for use on hardwoods. If I recall correctly, it specifically says so in the manual

Thank you all sooo very much. My hardwood floors are in good shape, recently got a pup a few months ago and an elder cat that doesn't always make it to the litter box. I recently got the Sienna Steam mop because it has the built in ultra violet/black light - helpful in making sure I got everything - then I use one of the cleansers with the enyzems that supposed to removed everything - seems like the cat continually visits...

So I thought with the lineoleum/tile might be nice to have something that actually scrubs. Sounds like the Floormate is the one I want.

I will have to wait for another TSV or might check Bed Bath Beyond, Walmart or Amazon...

Please check Hoover's website. I got a vacuum on sale during the 4th of July weekend from the website. It was 1/2 price. And I could not be happier with it.

I hadn't been looking for a Floormate but I am sure they sell them too.

I HAVE THE ORIGINAL HOOVER FLOORMATE. THE ORIGINAL MODELS VACUUMED AND SCRUBBED FLOORS. THE NEWER MODEL, NO LONGER VACUUMS. MY ORIGINAL CAN BE USED LIKE A WETVAC, OR DRY VAC. IT GETS MY TILES CLEAN, BUT DOES NOT REALLY GET INTO THE GROUT, ENOUGH. I THINK I WILL TRY THE CHLOROX FOAM SUGGESTION, ABOVE. THE SECOND INCARNATION OF THE FLOORMATE HAD A WIDER SCRUBBER AND COULD SCRUB THE GROUT SOMEWHAT BETTER. THEY ALSO VACUUMED. I DO NOT THINK THEY WOULD BE GOOD FOR WOOD. THEY ARE REALLY FOR TILE, VINYL, LINOLEUM.
