We recently sustained damage at our home due to frozen water pipes. The pipe had to be repaired, the ceiling was damaged and our hot water heater was damaged. Does the insurance company expect that we will buy a NEW hot water heater, or can we fix the damaged one? If we can fix it, are we expected to refund part of the settlement?
