If you live in the NYC metro area these are the prices with comparable salaries.

Absolutely @proudlyfromNJ and it would be a bargain in some areas of California. It's all about location, location, location.

Whoever lives in or near major cities, they would understand the price (and perhaps think it was a good price).

I'm in a suburb of DC and I watch the homes in my neighborhood, specifically the ones build by my builder and the same model as my townhouse.

Things are hot here and houses are under contract in 4-5 days.

One house was pulled off the market.  Doing forensics on the photos, I realized that they re-did the kitchen but removed the dishwasher and the pantry from the kitchen to have more cabinets and counterspace.  I will be interested to see if they fix the kitchen and try to resell.  7 of the same model have sold since January and this one is beautiful inside except for removing the dishwasher.

To fix it, they would need to do a new countertop and remove the cabinets on that side. Hopefully they left the plumbing there and just have to uncap it.

It might impact the floor, too, if they have to put the dishwasher over new flooring.

I can live without a tub and I have been living without a linen closet for 28 years, so it wouldn't bother me.

Maybe she's just trying to re-coup the cost of renovations and then a little bit more.  Could've been a flip, too.

I would want my tub, solely for bathing (we have 2 seperate showers).

But, if the nicer kitchen and patio mean a lot to you, perhaps you could consider a smaller washer/dryer with shelving on the side.

I saw the pics online and that is a very bright and airy apartment.  Have you considered doing renovations to your place to get the same feel?  Don't know if you have your own patio, that was a plus, for sure.

@Lucky Charm

Saw pics on line, what you know where I live?

We are on the second floor which is getting to be and we are going to wait for a two bedroom

I don't know... I live right around the corner from DC and while I certainly could easily pay that price for a 1BR condo, there are other options that would net me more for less and without necessarily compromising a good location or amenities... While I realize NYC is more costly than is DC, the market here is pretty pricey too... Regardless, good luck to you @I am still oxox in finding a home you want at a price you're willing to pay...

In my pantry with my cupcakes...
