I was looking on several sites for a toaster (not a toaster oven) and my gosh!  There was a toaster almost $350.00!

We only do toast......, toasted bread for a sandwich..........

One man said he had bought 2!!!!!

I guess their jelly is better than mine!!!!

Wow!  For that price, does it butter the toast and put it on a plate?  So many people think the more something costs the better it is.  Not true.

A regular cooker may cost less than 700 dollars, oh well!

My toaster costed 49 dollars (If I recall correctly) and that came from AAFES, it is a Cuisinart and I was been told then that this brand is a very good in Amercia.

@Catty2 It had several bells and whistles.  I was looking for complete, even toasting.

I didn't want my whistle THAT loud!!!!

I have a very well off sister and her toaster was in that range.  I was shocked when I saw how much it cost!  For me the ten dollar one works fine LOL.

A good toaster does cost, just not that much.  They have more durable, well spaced wires and toast the entire width and length.  I will admit to a small problem with perfect toast.

What brand was it?  I've bought a number of toasters over the years.......never saw that price.

Good toast with my KitchenAid pop-up - simple style- bell does ring bell when done; but that's no issue.  Push down again for half the time if you like toast a shade from burnt  (I do).

I don't think that I have ever seen a toaster that expensive.  Even though we have one, I always toast in my toaster oven because I think the toast gets and stays hotter.

@ECBG  I recently posted a SMEG Dolce Gabbana toaster that was $950 under the thread called Designer small kitchen electrics. If you have time, take a peek at it. I went back to the site where I found it, and it's no longer there - likely sold. It was pretty but too extravagant for my budget. There must be a market for them though.
