A local charity group sponsers a Holiday House each year at Christmas. They choose a large fancy home either in our Country Club section or our towns Historic section. They print a detailed program that's handed out at the beginning of the tour that talks about each room and it's features. Thinking back on the tours that I have went on over the years has got me thinking about the "features" that have been highlighted in these homes. I have some pretty unique things in my home as well. Let me take you on a small tour!
Living Room: A collection of antique Hardy Boys books, one inscribed with the name "Bobby Timberlake" AKA artist Bob Timberlake.
A complete collection of Christmas with Southern Living books starting with the first in 1981.
Local historic landmark pencil drawing framed above the mantle.
Display cabinet featuring husbands hobby models. Cabinet was purchased from a local estate sale.
Hand carved wooden Swan decoy on top of dispaly cabinet.
Quilt rack hanging on the wall was made by my father.
Afghan is by Bob Timberlake.
Vintage suicase and suitcase rack are used as a side table.
Suitcase table and quilt rack display antique books from the 1930's and 40's Ruth Fielding series.
The dresser behind the loveseat is part of a bedroom set for my 15th birthday.
The Longaberger baskets around the room are from a sizeable collection with more on display around the home.
The pine cabinet is handmade by my father with salvaged wood from a local drug store (historic, over 100 years old).
The entertainment center was custom made from Charlotte.
The Willow Tree angels around the room are part of a collection through out the home.
What would your Holiday House tour program say about your home?
