I recently purchased a new house. I was surprised to see an in-wall outlet in the middle of my living room wall once the house was complete. I had no idea it would be there since it was covered up in the model. I prefer to keep my television in an armoire (which I placed against another wall). Besides hanging an art print over the outlet, does anyone have any creative ideas on how to hide it? Thanks in advance.

they do have outlet covers that are plain .. I mean they have no holes
to plug anything in .... that would look better than an outlet ....

How about the baby outlet plugs? You may move furniture around or want to plug something in there during the holiday.

Wait until you try to figure which individual socket is controlled by which wall switch.
Long ago I lived in a third world place that had 220 AND 110 randomly thru the house. American style plugs, so that didn't help. Used a lot of burst bulbs and nail polish.

Here are 2 photos where an outlet is hidden: one by a swan with flowers, another a tall basket of silk leaves in a corner by a door:

@Tink814 Actually, what you're doing looks very nice. I wouldn't pursue it unless you just don't like those items there.

I think you need to clarify the problem.
As I read it the outlet you are talking about is LITERALLY in the MIDDLE of the wall not near the floor.
It is high on the wall to mount a TV so that you do not see the cords.
Most new homes put outlet up on the wall, for this reason, however, I have never heard of them putting it in without the owner of the home specifying where to put the outlet.
If you did not request it there I would have them come back and drop it down to a traditional position. They can repair the drywall and repaint.

Thanks for your responses. Yes, the outlet is right in the middle so a flat screen television can be mounted to the wall. However, I prefer to keep my televison in an armoire. I took a picture so you can see the outlet.

@Tink814 ..... get in touch with a carpenter or someone who can patch the drywall .... have him remove the outlet & patch the wall with dry wall & paint over it .... you will never know it was there 😉

I would not get rid of it because supposed later you would like to redecorate and put the TV on the wall. I can´t keep things in one place for too long. I like change. My husband would come home and try to sit where he left a sofa a few hours before. I always say, Look before you sit.
I´m thinking about puttind two tall paintings, not too wide on either side of the sofa for now. Let the end of the painting just cover the outlet.
