Keep your money. Don't buy a Dyson. Buy a Shark. I have two Sharks and they're the best, IMO.

I have a Miele canister vacuum and love it. I have hardwood floors and area rugs, too. I've had this vacuum for at least ten years. The only thing I would prefer is that it didn't use bags. I have a dog so have a lot of pet hair for it to pick up.

Don't know if it matters, but consumer reports always has the Sears Progressive listed as a best buy. I have a canister that I've had for a long time and it is good. I've been disappointed in my Dyson.

We have two Dysons - a cannister and a hand held both from the Q. We bought a Shark from the Q a few weeks ago and could not believe all it picked up. No more Dysons for us.

Which Shark is the best? My daughter wants one. She has a cat. No dogs. Thanks ladies.

I see that BBB has the one I want for $189 and I have 20% coupons. It's actually a little cheaper from QVC, but it takes items weeks to ship here, for some reason.

This is the one I'm looking at.

Forget the Dyson. Shark is definitely the way to go, love both of mine.
