Headboard or Headboard & footboard?

Considering a headboard or headboard footboard (whole bed)...

I saw on Ballard's (haven't had either for a while) and I'm wondering...do you have just a headboard or both head/foot on your bed? And whatever you have, why did you choose that?

I love the whole look of this bed, but I do have a smaller bedroom, so just the headboard may make sense, plus I love the look when the bedding goes over the end without a footboard covering it.

On the other hand the entire bed is pretty. Decisions....

So, I'm just curious what most people are doing out there...?

Tks in advance.

Re: Headboard or Headboard & footboard?

I have a bed with headboard and footboard in my master bedroom. It is a beautiful look, but the footboard is a royal pain. It is an obstruction when changing the linens. The bedspread is never exactly right. I would not buy a bed with a footboard again.

i would recommend no footboard for your purchase since you mentioned your room is smaller.

@amyb   Headboard only.  I would end up stubbing my toes if I had a footboard, plus I like to sleep lower on my bed so my feet hang over the edge.

Both for me. Whenever I've slept in a bed with no footboard--hotel rooms, mostly, but actually had a bed like that for awhile--my covers end up on the floor! I move around a lot while sleeping, nothing stays tucked in, and I throw covers off myself, and pull them back on sometimes multiple times through the night.

I agree with headboard only.  We have beds that have both.  The one with the footboard does look nice but it is harder to make the bed and to get the bedspread to drape correctly.

I really like the look of both but I only have a headboard for the reasons that have already been mentioned here.  I'm also tall and my feet would be hitting the footboard during the night and I'd get really annoyed with it.

I have a platform bed so no headboard or footboard.

Instead of a headboard there's a panel of wood on the wall, not attached to the bed.

Makes it easy to flip and turn my mattress w/o either boards.

We have a headboard only.

We had a footboard in the past but I hated it. The bed was had to make and I broke my toe 2x hitting it so no more for me.

We've had both, right now it's just the iron headboard. We do have the ftbrd and used it but removed it. The design sorts of curl out and gets in the way. Our room is huge but now it looks and feels better.

Both.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
