I think it is beautiful, warm and inviting. The only thing I would change is the paint color, I would paint it a peachy color.

Yes! I love sitting in front of the fire, it's my favorite place to sit.

I generally like the design except for the yellow paint and the light fixtures, and most importantly the architecture is odd, with the firepace so close to a wall and a door, and the location of the chairs facing the door.  If I was purchasing, I would pass unless I was planning to blow the wall with the door, make a nice seating area around the fireplace.  I like leather chairs.  I have  a west elm leather couch in my wish list, in a light burnt sienna color...
