This was an informative AOL video of a few seconds. So glad to hear about the insect info!

Hi ECBG really cool information. Whenever we go to a hotel we always include dryer sheets in our bags to ward off any possible bed bugs as even the best hotels can harbor those pesky gross bugs. We even put them inbetween the mattress and in the drawers. Never had a bed bug incident as of yet LOL

Thanks for the info. I had no idea! Do the dryer sheets have to be scented? I use unscented.

If you google "uses for dryer sheets", you should see a whole list of websites listing what appears to be hundreds of ways to employ them around the house, garage, electronics, etc.

I've seen all kinds of cool stuff mentioned as to uses for them.
I cannot have them in my house because I have upper respiratory challenges, plus I have a bird. They are just so strong that they will make me sick very quickly and I don't want to think about what they would do to him!
But one time I bought a small box of them for some weird purpose (darned if I can remember what, but it was definitely NOT for using in my dryer!!) years ago, and I probably still have them tucked somewhere back in one of those cabinets in my laundry room.

I'm allergic to fabric softeners. When I was just out of college and living in an apartment building with a community laundry room, I developed severe cases of hives two times after unknowingly throwing wet clothes into a machine where a previous user had left a dryer sheet.
When it happened the second time, I realized the connection between the fabric softener and the two doctor visits where I obtained mega-dose prescriptions for Benadryl.

Actually, Bounce sheets don't ward of bed bugs. An exterminator did a blog on this topic.
Some poor person used it instead of deadling with the problem properly.
When traveling, I am very careful and seal all clothing etc. in giant ziploc bags.
Apart from the BB thing, there are a lot of really great uses for dryer sheets.

I don't use them. I don't like the way they make the clothes feel and it may be just me but they leave a film on the clothes.
I also can't stand the smell of them, even the unscented smell just from sitting next to the scented ones on the shelves.

Fabric softeners really do leave a film on fabrics. I sometimes am a houseguest at a home where fabric softener has so thoroughly coated the bath towels that they not only seem to weigh more than they should, but also do NOT absorb water or dry out very quickly when hung on a towel rack. They even feel weird.

They ward off raccoons, skunks, and other critters when you duct tape the sheets to the inside of the trash can, and on the handle of the outside. Personally, I can't stand the odor, and they literally make my stomach turn. Years ago, it used to state on the package to keep away from our skin and also from children. I'm wondering if it still does. I keep away from scented laundry products, so I don't bother standing in the laundry products aisle, looking at and reading packages of 'this and that'.
