Have 3 varieties of pine candles going.

I have to admit the best one I have is from years ago, VPH one.  It was part of a set.  I had bought enough to give some to each co-worker, and some for me (us).  It's still the best one I have yet.

Do you have a pine one? Or, do you have one that smells really good, like real pine?

My old Harry Slatkin candles were the best ever.

The scents were not at all fake. The are pure, clean, and never

overpowering but gently scenting the air.

The  undernote that some companies put in all of

their candles is not present in his.

Advanced ordered several different of the Homeworx

and hope Q is not messing with cheapness now that they

own his line.

That pine Christmas tree scent is my favorite!

Last year I got a Christmas scentsations candle at a church yard sale. That was my favorite so far.

And Barnes and Noble had one in a tin that was really good too-I forgot the name but they have a lot of good brands!

Then I do remember getting a Slatkin one before they changed.

I don't like the B&BW candles now-they smell kind of sickening to me so I hope the new Slatkin ones are really good.

Oh and Village Candle has nice ones. Harris Teeter sellls them too!

Re: Have 3 varieties of pine candles going.

The Christmas pine scent is one of the toughest to get right.  If it's not done properly, it can end up smelling like Pine-Sol, or just making you gag, because it is so strong.  My favorite over the past few years has been "Evergreen" by BBW.

I have been testing 3 different new (to me) pine scents in the last week.  The first is "Birchwood and Pine" by Nest, and it is their second most popular holiday candle.  I got it for sale for $20 on Amazon, and gave it a 4 hour burn.  It was too cloying and too piney for me.  It definitely invoked Pine-Sol.  The second was "Holiday" by Nest, and again, I got it for $20 on Amazon.  This is the brand's signature, holiday fragrance.  It has pine notes but a lot of mandarin as well.  It smelled too synthetic to me, and didn't really give me a Christmas vibe.  The reason that I purchased these two scents is because Nest makes both of these candles in a "Grand" size which is a 4 wick, 76.8 ounce candle that costs $225, and I was given a $200 gift card to Nest.  I thought, instead of buying multiple candles over the holidays, that I would like one of these two scents, and just purchase one of them in the 4 wick size with the gift card.  My intent was to have that as my only candle necessary for the entire season.  Unfortunately, I can't imagine burning either of these candles for more than one day, let alone the entire season, so I'll save the gift card.  The third candle I tested this week, which was suprisingly the best, was Glade's holiday pine scented candle for this year, "Tree Lighting Wonder."  Glade has been hit and miss over the past several years with their pine scent for the holidays. Last year was too piney, but this year is just right.  This is definitely a reboot of a previous candle under a different name.  I'm glad they brought it back, because it works.  It won't be the main scent that I burn in my home this year, but it wil definitely be used in my bathroom and guest rooms when I have company.

I look forward to getting my 2 sets of Harry Slatkin Holiday candles, as they will probably be the main ones I use this year.  I'll probably also go with my old standby, "Evergreen" from BBW, and pickup a "Frasier FIr" from Wood Wick.  That's a great one, too.  I can't believe it's still August, and I'm already testing candles for the holidays!
