I have  tile floors in my kitchen but I am also in need of rug cleaner.

For those who have the Crosswave:

is it also for wall to wall carpeting or just area rugs.  They have demonstrated rug cleaning (area rug) so I'm confused about its use.   I've watched a few presentations, but, still not sure & no specific specifications mention which type of rug.

Thank you.

I have a Crosswave.  It works great on hard floors.

It would not work on wall to wall carpeting.  I have used it on an outdoor rug on the deck and it worked well.

It does not deep clean rugs.  The rollers only touch the surface and not much solution is dispensed, so it doesn't soak the rugs.

I would say it is for hard surface floors.

@Carmie

Thank you for your reply.  I just researched it more just for area rugs -- a pass for me as I love my Bissell steamer for my tile floors.

I believe it is not for large carpet cleaning jobs as they always emphasize area rugs.  More for just "freshening up".

@homedecor1 , I have the cross wave and I agree.  Ok for area rugs (I use it all the time for my front door rug) but not wall to wall.

I gave away my Hoover steam vac when I got this.  I am sorry I did.  That one was about 13 years old and seemed to me more heavy duty than the cross wave.
