HOW TO MAKE "RESTORATION HARDWARE"-TYPE CONCRETE BOWL CANDLES

maxresdefault.jpg

Maybe you already follow photographer Brandy Jackson.  She and her hubby live in a small apartment, and she's doing a great job slowly transforming it to her preferred style-- which is a combo of vintage, modern, lots of old wood, neutrals, organic and plants.  It's sort of luxe and natural at the same time.  I found her because she LOVES texture--  me too!

These types of candles can be expensive, so she found a method to make her own, and they look great in her space!  I love the concrete bowls for other things too, but note that she does not show how to seal them.  So if one wanted them to hold fruit or other edibles, they'd have to be sealed.  The method seems fairly straightforward:

Another thing I like about her is her eye for the key, rustic vintage piece--  I love this dough bowl-type tray she has, and she shows different ways she finds to use it in her video, "5 Ways to Style a Tray".
